Dean Bentle

If you receive unsolicited e-mail that claims to be from the IRS, please follow these suggestions:

Fighting Childhood Obesity Begins at Home

  • Eat breakfast everyday, and enjoy smaller-portioned snacks several times throughout the day.
  • Avoid food that contains excessive fat and simple sugars.
  • Eat family meals. Communal eating encourages healthier eating habits.
  • Feed your kids only when they are hungry and avoid snacking in front of the TV or while playing video games.

Brain Injury Awareness Month

March is the official Brain Injury Awareness Month. More often than not a brain injury is a life-changing event. Sometimes, a “simple” blow to the head can be the beginning of a misdiagnosed and misunderstood neurological disease. In order to prevent future complications and potentially save lives, individuals who sustain brain injuries must have timely access to expert trauma care.

Childhood ID Theft is a real crime

Dean Bentle

According to the San Antonio-Express News business section on February 1st, a child’s stolen identity may go undetected for many years and when the theft is finally discovered, the trail is completely cold and untraceable; which, of course, is what these thieves want. However, a problem can occur in the short term. For example, if the thief has some medical treatment their records can get mixed in with the victim’s with serious and potentially life threating consequences.
