Thrifty Thursday: Take a trip to the Middle Ages

Thrifty Thursday

A tight budget is a tough conundrum for parents trying to find ways to keep the kiddos busy. To help in this never-ending search, Stone Oak Info has introduced a new feature called Thrifty Thursday. Each week, find a few ideas for family-friendly fun that won’t break the bank.

We also welcome any ideas from the community and parents. Email suggestions to news@stoneoakinfo.com.

Middle Ages at Parman Library

Hear ye, hear ye!  The community is invited to stop by the Parman Public Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 and journey back to the Middle Ages.  The Barony of Bjornsborg in the Kingdom of Ansteorra -- a local branch of the nonprofit educational organization, Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. -- will help recreate the culture, arts and heritage of the Middle Ages. Watch various styles of warfare from the Middle Ages and Renaissance period, admire a Viking longship, try your hand at calligraphy and pursue many crafts and other exhibits.  This event is FREE.

The Parman Library is located at 20735 Wilderness Oak.  Visit www.mysapl.org/location.aspx?id=par for more information.
