Lockdown at Tejeda MS and Encino Park ES lifted
Tejeda Middle School and Encino Park Elementary School were placed on a soft lockdown this Wednesday morning while police investigated an incident in the area. According to a spokesperson with the San Antonio Police Department, police received a call that an individual was in the surrounding neighborhood threatening to commit suicide. Unsure if this individual had a weapon or not, both schools were placed on lockdown.
Classes did continue as normal, but all students were kept indoors. As of 11:20 a.m., the SAPD spokesperson said the lockdown had been lifted and the situation was resolved.
Tejeda Middle School and Encino Park Elementary School are located on the east side of Hwy 281 near the intersection of Evans Road and Encino Rio.
