Students raise money for Morgan's Wonderland
During their annual Kindergarten Market Place in early December, kindergarten students at Bulverde Creek Elementary School sold their own handmade crafts for 50 cent donations to Morgan’s Wonderland, a local family fun park designed specifically for children and adults with special needs. The elementary students ended up raising a whopping $842.07 for the theme park, which was presented to Wonderland founder Gordon Hartman on Dec. 15.
Hartman spoke with the students about Morgan's Wonderland and the students watched a photo-story celebrating their efforts prior to the check presentation.
"Mr. Hartman shows compassion and giving to us all through Morgan's Wonderland, a place to play for every child," says teacher Rebecca Powers. "Bulverde Creek Elementary students and teachers did an amazing job showing their virtues and have learned the importance of giving over receiving."
Morgan’s Wonderland, 5223 David Edwards Drive, is located across from NEISD’s Heroes Stadium near Thousand Oaks and Wurzbach. For teens looking to fulfill community service hours, Morgan’s Wonderland is always in need of volunteers.
