Amorcito's Mexican Cocina y Cantina has been a Houston area favorite since 1983, but brings its popular eats to San Antonio, where it rests between Bitters and Huebner roads, and serves up a bevy of favorites from both sides of the border.
Inside, the spacious restaurant is filled with the festive decor of Mexico, which creates a lively and casual setting to enjoy a lunch or dinner with family, friends, or business associates. Even outside, where oak trees surround two large dining areas, patrons can enjoy their favorite drink and food. A banquet room caters to special events and private occasions.
The menu features plenty of Tex-Mex traditions and specialties, including enchiladas, fajitas, quesadillas, seafood, soups, salads, and more--everything from the mahi mahi tacos to the steak ranchero. Happy hour runs from 2:30 until 6 pm, but there's always something tempting from the bar to try, including the classic margaritas and other specialty drinks.

History
The Renteria Family Restaurants, Inc. is a Houston based, privately owned group operated by brothers Michael, Eric, Brandon and parents Jacob and Doris Renteria.
It includes Border Grill and Cantina, Tortillas Mexican Restaurant, and Amorcito's Mexican Cocina y Cantina.
The Renteria Family Restaurants began in Pasadena, TX in 1983 with a small restaurant named Vaqueros. It was owned by six different families, which were bought out in following 8 years. Vaqueros sat approximately 85 people and quickly became a town favorite. In 1992 Vaqueros was expanded and the name changed to Border Grill and Cantina. Since then The Border Grill has exceeded expectations with the hard work of our dedicated employees and the loyalty of our great customers.
Tortillas Mexican Restaurant was purchased in 1992 and was an existing restaurant that was in need of new management and a new look. In 1993 the entire front of Tortillas was tore down and rebuilt. New management was brought in and policies were changed. Tortillas Mexican Restaurant is now one of the favorite restaurants of La Porte, Texas and has continued to improve over the years.
Amorcito's Mexican Cocina y Cantina is the most decorative and largest of all the Renteria Family Restaurants. The land for Amorcito’s was bought in January of 2006 and is approximately 2 acres. It is our first location in San Antonio TX and we are very excited about the opportunities here.
All the Renteria Family Restaurants have three traits in common: 1. to provide superior product quality 2. provide superior service 3. encourage constant innovation – a constant improving of ourselves, our products, and our organization.
The Renteria Family attributes their success to Doris Renteria who spent countless days and nights at Vaqueros Mexican Restaurant trying to make a dream come true. Through her example of hard work we will continue to aspire to be the best.
