Friday Feature: Peaches is passionate about pink

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Peaches Home and Gifts will host a special one-day Passionate for Pink event Saturday, Oct. 15.  Between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. this wonderful shop will donate 10 percent of sales to Wings, a non-profit organization that provides breast cancer treatment services to uninsured women in Central and South Texas.   

Shoppers never know what they’re going to find when they shop at Peaches Home & Gifts near Brookhollow and Hwy 281! The store, located in the H-E-B-anchored shopping plaza, opened in 2005 and is named after the owners’ well-dressed poodle. 

Visitors entering Peaches are first met with an exuberant greeting of “Hi.  Welcome to Peaches! Make yourself at home and flap your wings if you need help!” If this raises an eyebrow, owner Gina Blankenship, explains, “I used to say, if you need help just holler, but we had a rowdy group in one time!”

Exemplary customer service is their claim to fame.  That and 5,100 square feet of the most sought after giftables and home décor. Their lines include Pandora Jewelry, Jon Hart, Yellow Box Shoes, SwitchFlops, Swan Creek, Circle E and Aromatique.  They are also the number one retailer in San Antonio for Tyler Candles.

The store offers fashion jewelry and a large selection of handbags as well, plus an impressive garden section, gourmet foods, baby gifts and inspirational items.  Two years ago, they added an interactive kitchen to allow for entertaining during special events.

Once every few months, customers can count on Peaches hosting some sort of social “shindig” to celebrate whatever season, holiday, or event may be!

Peaches even provides a craft table to entertain children while parents shop and a courtesy coffee counter for customers to enjoy as well. Gina’s attitude is “There’s nothing here anyone needs…I know, I’ve checked! That means when someone comes here to shop – it’s warm fuzzies from the get go!”
