Auden's Kitchen, McNay art brunch Aug. 8

Auden's Kitchen

The McNay and Auden’s Kitchen will hold another "McNay Art Brunch at Auden's Kitchen" Sunday, Aug. 8.  A creative collaboration, this event begins with brunch at the new Stone Oak eatery and concludes with an afternoon of visual splendor at the McNay Art Museum.

The art brunch is offered every second Sunday of the month to allow patrons in the Stone Oak area the chance to enjoy a stimulating day of savory food and breathtaking art. The package includes brunch and a beverage at Auden’s Kitchen, transportation and admission to the McNay Art Museum, as well as an opportunity to join the public tour on McNay Architecture.

“At the McNay we want to make sure that every member of our community is exposed to what we have to offer,” says Daniela Oliver, McNay spokesperson. “Stone Oak has been known to attract newcomers to San Antonio, and we’d like to help make the museum more approachable to them.

Brunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The shuttle will leave for the McNay from Auden’s Kitchen at 1:30 and return at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under and is inclusive of tax and gratuity.

Auden’s Kitchen, located at 700 E. Sonterra Blvd., is a casually-spirited restaurant featuring traditional American cuisine and Chef Bruce Auden’s signature dishes.

Located at 6000 N. New Braunfels, the McNay houses nearly 20,000 works of art, including those by Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Much of the museum is located within the Spanish Colonial Revival-style residence built by artist and educator Marion Koogler McNay in the 1920s.  The home was opened as Texas’s first museum of modern art in 1954. In 2008, the size of the museum was nearly doubled with the opening of the 45,000-square-foot Stieren Center for Exhibitions.
