Are you ready for some football!?!

The 2012 Super Bowl is Sunday and the Stone Oak area is the place to be if you need a spot to watch the game or some last minute snacks. Below are just a few suggestions.
Where’s the game playing?
Lion and Rose British Restaurant and Pub, 700 E. Sonterra Blvd.
The game will probably be on all 13 televisions found within Stone Oak’s Lion and Rose Pub this Sunday. Even though there’s not a seat in the house that won’t have a view of the game, the sound will also be piped throughout the restaurant. Game day specials include Buy One Get One Free Hackney Hot Wings, Onion Petals or English Chips and Cheese.
Tilted Kilt, 2979 N. Loop 1604 East
Cold beer, great food, beautiful girls and HDTVs everywhere you turn is on the Super Bowl menu at the Tilted Kilt near Loop 1604 and Gold Canyon.
Boston’s Pizza, near Loop 1604 and Hwy 281 in the Legacy shopping center
Sunday’s game will definitely be playing on the many televisions found within this restaurant and sports bar. Super Bowl specials include two one-topping pizzas and a large salad for $29.99.
Buffalo Wings and Rings, 203 N. Loop 1604 West
The game will definitely be on all 35-plus televisions and four video walls. Enjoy plenty of Super Bowl specials (see below) and 12 different draft beers. The tables go fast, so come early!
JW Marriott Hill Country Resort, 23808 Resort Parkway
The resort’s High Velocity Sports Bar will host a Super Bowl Fiesta Sunday, with food and drink specials kicking off at 11 a.m. Prizes will be given away all day. Watch the game within the bar or on an additional 15x13-foot projector screen on the outdoor patio. No reservations accepted. Entry will be on a first-come-first-serve basis, so get there early!
Next Generation Water, 1201 N. Loop 1604 West / Vineyard Shopping Center
The game will be shown within the media room of the water-based wellness center. BYOB and potluck. Call 408-9270 for more information.
Roaring Fork and Wildfish restaurants, 1806 N. Loop 1604 West at Huebner Road
The Roaring Fork and Wildfish are both celebrating Super Bowl Sunday by offering another “Dinner on Us” promotion. Buy one entrée and get a second one of equal or lesser value for free. This promotion kicks off at 4 p.m.

Super Bowl at NorthRock Church
NorthRock Church will host a unique day of programming Sunday morning with giveaways, special music by Nashville’s Jacob Lowery, football trivia and more. NorthRock meets at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. at Reagan High School.
Cornerstone Church Super Bowl Bash
The Cornerstone Church near Stone Oak Parkway and Loop 1604 will host a Super Bowl Bash at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5. Enter your favorite recipe in a Chili Cook-off Contest or just sample the goods. Contest categories will include “Spiciest Chili, “Specialty” and “Best Over All.” Meal tickets will be sold for $5 per person. Call 499-1656 for more information.
Souper Bowl Youth vs. Adults Flag Football Game
Hope Arise UMC will host a friendly Youth vs. Adult Flag Football Game at Cibolo Green Elementary School, Buckner Fanning Christian School, 24315 Bulverde Green. Event will begin with a tailgating party at 12:30 p.m., followed by a Family Fun Flag Football Game at 1:30 p.m. and a more competitive Youth vs. Adult game at 2:15 p.m. All are welcome to come watch or play. Cost of admission is just one can of soup or other nonperishable item. Proceeds will be donated to the local food pantry.
