Artistic Images announces Child Portrait Contest
Calling all cute kiddos! San Antonio-based Artistic Images is currently hosting a Baby and Child Portrait Contest with two opportunities to win cash prizes and pure bragging rights. Babies and children up to 12 years of age may enter the contest between now and April 30.
Contestants will first be entered into an online competition during which their portraits will be posted on Artistic Images’ E-Blog and Facebook page. The public will vote for their favorite photo in seven categories: Chubbiest Baby, Most Beautiful Eyes, Most Creative Outfit/Scene, Funniest Expression, Best Pre-teen, Most Artistic and Best of Our Special Children.
“The masses will choose the winners,” says Artistic Images owner and photographer Elizabeth Homan. The images with the most votes in each category will win a portrait credit to Artistic Images totaling $500 for first place, $250 for second place and $100 for third place.
This is the first year Artistic Images is hosting such a contest and Homan says she has already received an impressive response. To enter their child, parents must schedule a complimentary, 30-minute photography session at Artistic Images by calling 497-3809. Each portrait will vary with props, clothes or backgrounds selected to capture the personality of each child. One contestant, for example, will be photographed amidst numerous balloons – his favorite object -- in every shade of green – his favorite color.
Homan will select which portrait is entered into the contest. Parents will have the opportunity to purchase any of the photos taken.
Contestants participating in Artistic Images’ online contest will automatically be entered into a national competition of professional photographers. Cash prizes ranging from $500 for honorable mention to a grand prize of $5,000 will be awarded in four categories: Color, Black and White, Humorous and Special Needs. All cash prizes are given to the child's family. Although their work will be published, the photographers in the national contest receive no monetary compensation.
