2010 MLK Scholarship applications available

The 2010 Martin Luther King, Jr., Scholarship application is now available. High school seniors who plan to pursue a college degree and are looking for financial assistance are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be a graduating senior attending a high school within Bexar County.

Individuals interested in applying may do so by visiting the City's website at www.sanantonio.gov/mlk and applying online or by downloading the application. Completed applications must be turned in Friday, March 5, 2010.

Each year, the MLK Commission awards $1000 scholarships to area students. Scholarship funds originate from a variety of charitable donors that include small businesses, large corporations, non-profits and individual citizens. Scholarship recipients will be recognized during a City Council meeting in May.
