Following up on the ABC article about the debate over abstinence based sexual education; it seem ludicrous to teach teenagers to” just say no” when full grown, married leaders in this country can’t manage it. It’s definitely a case of “do what I say and not what I do.”  I’d like to hear other people’s thoughts since there has been the switch to abstinence based education. Personally, if all the facts about conception and contraception aren’t covered along with the STD’s then I don’t believe it can be called education, it’s scare tactics. Discussions among the students regarding the moral and emotional issues can be facilitated without the educator promoting their own personal views. Our teenagers are already discussing the many complex issues in the world today. Not to give them them all the  facts is like going back to the days when evolution couldn’t be taught in schools.
