Reagan NAHS Wins Contest

Reagan High School art teacher Jessica Gonzales and her National Art Honor Society (NAHS) students won $500 in the S.M.A.R.T. (Supporting Multiple Arts Resources Together)/Waste Management Dumpster Design competition at the third annual Pie to the People at the historic La Villita on Saturday, March 9.

The 2012 Ronald Reagan High School Regalia Yearbook received a first place rating in the American Scholastic Press Association’s annual yearbook competition. This is the fifth year in a row the Regalia has won this top rating.

US 281 roadway closures

US 281 Southbound frontage road from Donella to Brook Hollow will have alternating lanes closures from 9 PM until 5 AM each night starting on March 19 to March 21. This closure is necessary to allow crews to work in this area. The frontage road lane closure will vary as crews complete work in the area.

When we opened the doors to the Ark and stepped on to what felt like real grass, it was as if we were stepping back in time. Every intricate detail was crafted so carefully to create the most realistic experience possible. According to Mrs. Hagee, the idea for the Ark came from Pastor Hagee. “He is always very innovative and the bible says, without a vision people parish; and he basically has a vision every thirty minutes [laughs].” 

Local Resident Named Semifinalist in 46th Pillsbury Bake-Off

Melissa Stadler, a local resident of San Antonio, Texas was recently named one of 60 semifinalists for the 46th Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest. The Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest is one of the most iconic competitions in the United States. She needs San Antonio's votes to send her to the finals to compete for $1 million. Stadler has been close to the grand prize before back in 2009 when she was a finalist in the 44th Pillsbury Bake-Off.

The Ark Sets Sail in Stone Oak Tomorrow

Cornerstone Church will finally unveil the Noah’s Ark Inspired building to the public tomorrow. The unveiling of Cornerstone’s newest addition, a 28,400 square foot Noah’s Ark inspired building will be open tomorrow from Noon to 4:00 PM.

St. Patrick died on March 17th in Ireland, leaving a legacy behind for establishing monasteries across the country. The day of his death has forever been a day for the Irish to celebrate St. Patrick for converting the pagans to Christianity and pushing the evil out of Ireland. There are more people of Irish descent in America than in Ireland itself, which has made St. Patrick’s day a tradition across the globe for Irish and non-Irish alike to celebrate.
