Comments on water rate increase sought
Submitted by Staff on Wed, 07/21/2010 - 11:56am.Bexar Metropolitan Water District, which is foreseeing a $5.8 million shortfall this fiscal year, is expected to accept one of three proposed options to collect needed revenue. The first will increase all residential and commercial water rates by nine percent. The average residential home using about 7,500 gallons per month would pay approximately $2.60 more with this plan. Commercial properties using an average of 40,000 gallons a month would probably dish out another $17.15.
JROTC cadets accept Leadership Challenge

Two Stone Oak schools welcome new principals

Lola Folkes, former principal of Jackson-Keller and Oak Grove elementary schools, will now take the reins at Hardy Oak Elementary. Folkes replaces Sharon Newman, who quietly retired at the end of the 2009-10 school year.
Video board finally installed at Heroes Stadium

The new video board system at North East ISD’s newest athletic complex has been successfully installed. On June 30, the video board was given its first test under typical game-type conditions.
