Fall 2009 the Mays Family YMCA will be offering 5 youth sports leagues:

• Soccer ages 3-14
• Baseball ages 4-12
• Volleyball ages 9-14
• Flag Football ages 7-10
• Tackle Football ages 10-13

Registration for our Tackle Football ends July 31st

Early Bird Registration for all other sports will begin on July 13

All ages and skill levels are invited to join a weekly chess club from 6 to 7:30 p.m. every Monday at the Bannwolf Public Library, located on the Reagan High School campus.  On the second Monday of every month J.P. Hyltin conducts a strategy session.

San Antonio's Animal Care Services will hold a pet adoption event at the PetsMart near Evans Road and Hwy 281 from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 14.

This month's Networking in Stone Oak breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. Thursday, July 16 at Leticia's Mexican Food Restaurant near Huebner and Stone Oak Parkway.  Guest speaker Jill Wininger, owner of Ecowater Systems, will discuss San Antonio's hard water woes and how to have clean water for just pennies a glass.

COCO Chocolate Lounge and Bistro will kick off Latin Vibe Night with DJ Casper at 10 p.m. Friday, July 17.

This Saturday night enjoy the live music of Laura Marie and the duo talent of Reza Kaleel.  These very talented singer/songwriter/guitarists combine their talents in contemporary acoustic music in a very unique and special way. Live music starts at 8:00 p.m. on the Courtyard behind WineStyles at 700 E. Sonterra Blvd.; Ste. 1105 in the same Plaza as the Lion & Rose Pub.  No cover charge.  Enjoy wines or beer by the glass and appetizers are complimentary.  See you there!

The Club at Sonterra will host a Bridal Open House showcasing the latest wedding trends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 19.  Brides will also have the opportunity to sample cuisine and meet the club's catering staff and preferred vendors.  RSVP by calling 496-1560.

El Papalote Taco & Grill will host a grand opening celebration from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 24.  The party will include drink specials, free nachos, giveaways and coupons.  El Papalote is located just west of Stone Oak Parkway at 203 N. Loop 1604 West.

COCO's Chocolate Lounge and Bistro, located within the Legacy shopping center near Loop 1604 and Hwy 281, will celebrate its one-year anniversary Friday, July 24 with a champagne dinner and DJ party.  The restaurant opens for dinner at 4 p.m. and the music will play from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

A grand opening reception for the David Shelton Gallery, 20626 Stone Oak Parkway, will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 25.  The art gallery is now open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.     

Join us this Saturday night for wine, beer and great music on the Concord Plaza behind WineStyles, as WineStyles hosts another great outdoor event, wtih the music of Jonathon Moody.  Music begins at 8:00 p.m.  There is no cover charge and you can enjoy complimentary appetizers.

On Sunday, July 26, Vanguard Vet. Assoc., Inc. will offer a mobile pet vaccination clinic from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Wal-Mart near Loop 1604 and Hwy 281.  On Saturday, Aug. 1, the clinic will also be available from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Walgreens near Evans Road and Stone Oak Parkway and from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the H-E-B Plus near Hwy 281 and Evans. For a list of available vaccinations and costs, visit www.lowcostvacc.com.
