Let the games begin!!  The Young Chef's Academy, a children's culinary school, is kicking off its Olympic-themed summer mini-camp July 8-10.  Titled "Go Greek," this first session of the seven-week camp will offer participants an opportunity to learn about the origins of the Olympics and prepare amazing Greek dishes that are hard to pronounce, but wonderful to taste.  Camps are offered 9 to noon or 1 to 4 p.m. for three days each week.  For more information visit

On Saturday, July 12, city residents are welcome to drop off unwanted bulk items at any of the four designated drop-off locations free of charge.  Items accepted include furniture, mattresses, household appliances and car tires.  Participants must be a resident of San Antonio and show a recent CPS Energy bill as well as a photo ID.  The Free Lanfill Disposal Day will be held from 8 a.m.
